Anna Westerlund was born in Lisbon, in the year of 1978. Anna has always had an international background, the fact of being half-Swedish made her spend long periods in Sweden, and at a later stage, she worked as a model which allowed her to travel around the world. Anna decided to interrupt her Marketing & Advertisement graduation, when she discovered her passion for ceramics. Finishing the Ceramic Course at ARCO in 2008, Anna, has since then, participated in several design and ceramic exhibitions and events both at a national and international level. In September 2008 Anna was selected to represent Portugal as a young ceramist in the International Ceramic Bienal in Denmark. In the beginning of 2009 she opened here own studio and since then, has never stopped working as a ceramist. In 2010 she participated in a exhibition showing the best Portuguese design at the MOMA shop in New York. After finishing this year the Advanced Course in Visual Arts at ARCO she was invited to participate in the exhibition "Portugal Convida" in Barcelona.
